Connecting to an existing assignment

Learn how to connect an eJournal assignment to one or more courses in the LMS.

Did you create an assignment on eJournal, and would like to connect it to the LMS? Or do you want students to continue working on an assignment over multiple LMS courses? It is possible to achieve this by connecting an eJournal assignment to one or more courses in your LMS.

Follow this guide to create the assignment within the LMS first

After creating an assignment in your LMS, follow these steps to connect it to an existing assignment on eJournal:

  1. When launching the assignment from your LMS for the first time, choose the option 'Connect To Existing Assignment'.
  2. Select the assignment that you want to connect to. connect-assignment-modal
  3. Click 'Connect' to connect the existing assignment to the new course.

Connecting multiple courses and the LMS gradebook

Synchronization to the gradebook in your LMS can only be done for one course at a time. You can control which is the 'active' course by clicking 'Manage LTI' from the actions section on the assignment page in eJournal. Connecting an assignment to a new course will make the newly connected course active by default.

After changing the active course, all students have to visit the assignment via that course in the LMS at least once before they can continue working on the assignment.This is required to ensure that grades can be synchronized with the gradebook of the correct course.
